Gratitude is the first step of the LawOf Attraction. Why? Because if you are not happy and thankful forwhat you are already have, then you cannot receive bigger and betterthings. You will be stuck where you are. To be in a state of allowingyour vibration must be high, only then will you be able to receive.And a great way to do that is to use gratitude.The Law Of Attraction using gratitude is key.

 

Having gratitude for things you havereceived and are going to receive are very powerful practices to usewith the law of attraction. You see, every action must have an equaland opposite reaction. And what is the opposite of giving? Yes, youare correct, it is receiving. So when you give something, it is thelaw that you must receive something. Giving thanks and gratitude issomething everybody can give, and it really makes us feel good doingso. So it does a couple things right there than benefit us. And sinceyou are giving, you must receive things in return. This is why it isthe first step. If you cannot be grateful for what you have, how areyou going to receive more? You can have anything in this worldthat you desire, as long as it is for the good. All that is requiredof you is that you be grateful for everything you have, and live lifefully at a high vibration. Be an asset to the world. That is all. Andyou maybe asking if it is that easy why are we not all rich? Wellhave you noticed how many people take things for granted? The world shrinks by the day, and it is readily apparent to many that not all of it speaks English. Learning a new language facilitates communications with others who do not have a decent grasp on English, or none at all. So many programs claim to teach you a new language via new and exciting ways; the truth is, learning a new language involves the same parts of the brain that the old one already uses. What is really needed to learn a new language is memory and the use of core words to use as a framework.

Think of a young child who is learning to speak their first words. The child only uses a few words for communication as they have not grasped how to form the descriptive words to get their meaning across. This process is the same for learning a new language. Pimsleur Italian and Rocket Japanese programs utilize these concepts in teaching languages.

Pimsleur discovered many years ago that there are distinct things the brain does in order to learn a new language. The first is memory; he determined the point at which a new word goes from the short term memory bank into the long term memory section. Keeping a word in long term memory is the basis of being able to recall the word for use. Anticipation is another distinct brain function. When being spoken to in a native language, the listener anticipates the answer and responds in the same language, verbally. Swapping the newly learned words into the anticipation area makes it easier to speak in that language.

There are other avenues that Pimsleur uncovered and combined in his program for learning a new language. It works no matter what language that the learner is attempting, even if it is a Pimsleur Russian book. Following the principles outlined in the book makes it easy to learn any language the individual chooses.

Identifying Your Transferable Skills

The instructions that follow will help you to carry out a mini-audit on your career that will identify your transferable skills. However, it is not enough to simply pinpoint your skills – you also need to think about how much you enjoyed using them.

 

Listing Achievements

First, identify a minimum of ten achievements of which you are proud. They may come from your personal or work life – the balance will depend on your circumstances. Think creatively about what you might count as achievements – they are not just the obvious things. In your personal life, you may hold a position of responsibility that calls for the use of skills you do not normally use at work. You could also have had to deal with events that may not have been particularly enjoyable, but have nevertheless demonstrated capacities and talents you may not have realized you posses.

 

Things to do:

Write a brief outline of your career to date for quick and easy reference.
Keep all the notes you have made about your skills and objectives.
Keep ready to hand a copy of your present job description to refer to.

 

Recognizing Skills

To identify your skills, break each achievement down into its component parts. Think about what each component part was and which skills you used. Using a chart such as the one opposite, score the frequency with which you used a transferable skill – you may be surprised by the results. Be aware of the skills you use in your personal life – some people find that their personal lives display a wider range of skills than they use at work.

 

Scoring and Checking

Now rate on a scale of 1-5, where 1 is low and 5 is high, how much you enjoyed using each particular skill and then the degree to which you want to use it again. Being proficient at something and enjoying doing it are not always the same thing. Finally, take a reality check – this is not easy. Choose someone who knows you well and talk them through your analysis to come up with an overall reality rating for each skill

 

Assess Results

Skills you can demonstrate and that you enjoy and want to use again are obvious priorities. Skills that you rate enjoyable and want to use again, but can only demonstrate limited evidence of, are clearly areas for career development. Keep the results of this mini-audit to help in preparing your CV and covering letters – they are the key words, phrases, events, and ideas to include in all your applications.
